Scales Variations

Scales Vatriations Practice Technique Scales VariationsThis method will test if you really know your scales.

You will need some manuscript paper for this method. To begin with you need to write out 3 variations of your scale. You can either do this in each key you need to play or could just do it in C major and work the others out in your head.

The 3 variations you need to write out are:

  • Variation of notes
  • Variation of rhythm
  • Free Variation

Once you have written out your variations you need to play each variation corretly 3 times before moving to the next variation. Do not move on until you have the variation correct.

Your teacher might suggest ideas for variations or you could use our key of the week section.
